Honor Flight would not be successful without the generous support of our local and national Honor Flight Guardians. Honor Flight Guardians play a significant role on every trip, ensuring that every veteran has a safe and memorable experience from the time they enter the airport to the time we return home.
Safety is paramount and every veteran is accompanied by a trained Honor Flight Guardian.
Austin Guardians: We have a limit on local guardians that we send to Washington D.C., this allows Honor Flight to use our resources on our Veterans for future flights. We appreciate your willingness to never leave the side of your Veteran while assisting at the airport. When our Veteran returns home to Austin Bergstrom International Airport; you may not receive the same Veteran you assisted on the send off. We believe the unique experiences of all our Veterans will have a positive impact on your volunteer experience.
All Austin Honor Flight Guardians traveling to Washington D.C. are asked to make arrangements to pay the Honor Flight Guardian fee prior to their assigned Honor Flight. Your duties will be similar to the D.C. Guardians.
D.C. Guardians: Thank you for volunteering your time to care for, watch over and guard our Veterans while they are in Washington D.C. We appreciate your willingness to never leave the side of your Veteran. Your time as a Guardian will be rewarding and a truly memorable experience. Help our Veterans and their family members to remember this Trip of A Lifetime by taking photos of your Veteran throughout the trip.
We encourage you to communicate your questions or concerns as a Guardian. You can share by emailing; contact@HonorFlightAustin.org. We appreciate your feedback.
You can post photos on the Honor Flight Austin Facebook page, our Veteran Family members and their friends, appreciate seeing their Hero on this special, Tour of Honor.
